The Peninsula is a drive from our base, and the work there is worth it: holiday homes and new builds with pools, rooftop terraces and views across the bay. In Dromana we recently put frameless glass around an infinity-edge pool and a rooftop terrace that looks straight out over Port Phillip.
Salt air is the thing to plan for down there. Every exterior job on the Peninsula gets marine-grade 2205 stainless spigots, hinges and standoffs, because they stand up to the coast far better than standard grade stainless. Holiday home or not, Mornington Peninsula Shire wants pools and spas registered and the barrier inspected every four years, and a fence that has sat in sea air for four years still has to pass. We install to AS 1926.1-2012 with that in mind.

What hardware do you use on the coast?
Marine-grade 2205 stainless spigots, hinges and standoffs on every exterior job. Standard 316 stainless tea stains in salt air, so we do not use it on the coast.
Can you fence an infinity or edge pool?
Yes. The Dromana job is an infinity-edge pool with frameless glass on two sides and a rooftop terrace above it. An edge pool still has to meet AS 1926.1-2012 everywhere a child could reach the water, so we plan the glass around that.
Do you do balustrades for holiday homes?
Yes. We fit frameless balustrades on decks, terraces and balconies, so the view stays open.
